In life, we expect things to improve, to get better, that breakthroughs will be made in research and the outcomes for people diagnosed with illnesses will improve.

However, the statistics for pancreatic cancer are frighteningly real and seemingly placed in the "too hard basket":

  • Fewer than 5% of pancreatic patients survive beyond 5 years.
  • Median survival rate is between 3 and 6 months.
  • Each year over 2000 Australians are diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer, sadly almost all of them are defeated by it.
  • It is the most lethal of all adult cancers.
  • There has been no progress made in the last 40 years of research.
