Palm Beach 'Put your Foot Down Walk'

Sunday 30th of October was the date of our third Sydney walk. A record 198 people registered either online or on the day and almost $17,000 was raised for the Garvan Institute for pancreatic cancer research.

People came from all walks of life and all locations. We gratefully acknowledge all the walkers, volunteers and the companies who donated products and equipment.

Third "Best Things in Life" Dinner Another Great Success

A torrentially wet winters’ night was no match for the swish surrounds of the Ivy on Thursday 21st of July where our third and most successful dinner to date was held.

More than $280,000 was raised from the sell out event! It is a phenomenal result that substantially surpasses previous dinners.

Foundation sponsors Woolworths Limited and Coca-Cola Amatil co-hosted the dinner and both company CEO's, Michael Luscombe and Warwick White, spoke about the need to help this cause and their reasons for supporting it. The widow of Warwick’s mentor, and friend, who had succumbed to pancreatic cancer, was a special guest at the dinner.

First Walk in Melbourne a Huge Success for Pancreatic Cancer

More than 150 people turned up to support our inaugural Melbourne 'Put your foot down' walk along the beautiful foreshore at Sandringham Beach on Sunday 10th April. Melbourne's renowned unreliable weather threatened to cancel our first Victorian event, but thankfully to the relief of one and all, the skies cleared on the morning. Hawthorn players Jarryd Morton and Jack Mahoney, helped the crowd get ready for the walk by doing some warm up exercises.  Garvan Researcher Amber Johns spoke passionately about the need for research and the work the Garvan is doing in this field.
